Sermon Series

simply JESUS: (Re)Discovering Christ through the book of Hebrews is Mosaic’s winter series.

The book of Hebrews paints a beautiful picture of JESUS — who He is, what He did, how He relates to us — and how JESUS restores us to a relationship with the one true God.

The book of Hebrews is written to those discouraged, to those struggling in their faith, to those who have become preoccupied with self-indulgent life, and to those who are in & close to real trouble in life.

In essence, we need to see Christ exalted in His splendor, love, and grace. We need to pay attention to His Word and to draw near to Him.

So let’s take hold of the challenge of the Book of Hebrews, for it is God speaking to us.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a young German theologian who stood against Hitler, told his students, “When you read the Bible, you must think that here and now God is speaking with me.” Journey with us as we take hold of the challenge of the Book of Hebrews, for it is God speaking to us.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, 2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.
