“If you want to get to know someone intimately, eavesdrop on their prayers.” Fortunately, the Bible allows us to do just that with the prayers of Jesus, and this study will give you an opportunity to get to know Him better.

Recorded Prayers Of Jesus

1. Praying prior to Bethlehem (Hebrews 10:5,7)
2. Praying at His baptism (Luke 3:21,22)
3. Praying before His first preaching tour of Galilee (Mark 1:35-39)
4. Praying after the healing of a leper (Luke 5:12-16)

After reading the verses, use the following questions to help bring focus to what God might want to teach you from that passage.

a. What is Jesus praying for in the verses you just read?

b. From His prayer, what obviously does He know about God?

c. How would a greater awareness of this characteristic(s) of God affect your actions, feelings, and attitudes?

d. Thank God for what He has revealed of Himself to you.
